Well, once upon a time in 2004 two women decided to open a QUALITY print shop. They bought a piece of beatiful property with over 10 huge Oak trees right in the middle of Wilmington,NC in front of Cape Fear Hospital. During their first year they thought more than once that they may have to use the ER for the Heart Attacks that go along with owning your own business.
So, one of those BIG Oaks is in the front and we painted the bottom red to stop oozing. Well little did we know the pevious paint was reflective. Two weeks later a couple of guys from the local bar down the street stopped in and said "We really miss the reflective paint,it helped us get home at night." Well, into action we flew and painted big white dots on the red so these guys could find their way home.
Someone turned us into the City for a sign ordinance violation. Then the FUN began! We are a small town so any news is news.Print Works was in the local paper many times, then the 2 TV stations picked up on it and finally USA TODAY. "Woman in battle with City over PolkaDots." Our sales double that year and we haven't looked back. Lesson: News is News use it to your advantage!
